A New Brand Comes To Life

SkyChefs’ old site was buried inside the LSG Group’s corporate website, running a template that had aged badly through rounds of acquisitions and reorgs. The rebrand gave the company its own name and, finally, ownership of its own brand. I built the website to match, start to finish, in six weeks.

01

The Ask

A launch date already on the calendar.

A few pages inside someone else’s template, a few clicks from the home page, with no navigation of its own. SkyChefs needed a full standalone site on a launch date that couldn’t move, because too much else was tied to it. And the marketing team wanted to manage the content afterward without calling a developer. POPflow was the entire team. Design, build, launch, hosting, one person.

SkyChefs brand guidelines inform website design

The guidelines arrived print-first. The digital interpretation was mine.

02

The Design

From brand book to live site.

WordPress and Divi, designed from the ground up rather than a stock template with a logo dropped on top. SkyChefs had a finished brand and no website, so the work was translating one into the other.

01

Hero video

The client wanted a cinematic open for the home page. I cut one from operations footage, food prep, and passenger reactions, and kept the file light enough that it doesn’t slow the page down. The new catering truck hadn’t been photographed yet, so I generated the tarmac shots.

02

A print brand, translated to screen

BRASH delivered the SkyChefs identity as a print-first system. I met with their team to understand the intent behind the guidelines, then made the digital design calls the book didn’t cover. BRASH and SkyChefs both signed off on the result.

03

Designed around what wasn’t ready

Photography, final copy, and the new truck graphics were still in progress while the design was due. I built the layouts around defined slots rather than tuning them to specific assets, so late content dropped in without a redesign.

What Went Live

Phase 1, in full.

01

Homepage and story

Company overview, leadership, five service lines, and the brand promises.

02

Careers, Contact, and News

A full content structure, plus a news section the team publishes to directly.

03

Managed hosting and security

Managed WordPress hosting with monitoring, backups, and updates, all handled by me. I also ran point on SkyChefs’ enterprise security review, including a third-party penetration test coordinated with their IT and infrastructure teams.

The home page, top to bottom

“The response was overwhelmingly positive. Compliments to the chef on the work that you’ve done. It stayed true to the brand guidelines. I don’t think I’ve ever sat through a first round where I didn’t get back a lot of feedback. This is a first for me. No notes!”

The Impact

They kept me on.

There was no soft launch. The brand went live everywhere on one morning, website and social together.

SkyChefs retained POPflow for hosting, ongoing web maintenance, and additional digital creative services.
